Biography
Rene is a multidisciplinary creative and design strategist focused on digital transformation, branding experience, and UX. He brings two decades of expertise driving customer experience, brand systems, and product innovation across major corporations. His career spans roles at Henry Schein, FullBeauty Brands, Ogilvy, and independent consultancy work, where he has led eCommerce initiatives, UX transformations, and creative direction for global brands.
During these past four years working in the healthcare category at Henry Schein, he created a critical initiative for a global leading company in dental and medical services. In his role as "Global Sr Director, eCommerce Branding and Creative Innovation”, and as part of "Global eCommerce Platform (GEP)" team, he led a breakthrough digital transformation. With a mandate to "revolutionize”, he conceptualized an "Artificial Intelligence Digital Soul" named Esther. After vetting and selling the idea internally, he was given the green light to make it operational, not only within the new eCommerce platform but also transforming the company’s culture. He created a Global "Brand Operating System" (BOS) with a new visual language with artificial intelligence at the center of it, custom content, tone of voice, and a design system capable of being “Glocal”. An original formula capable of consistency across all regions, agile and scalable. He trained his creative team, mentoring and empowering new ways of working for the creation of visual content for the platform and its marketing extensions while supervising the corporate creative team for its integration. He identified all the correct internal and external partners to reach a tangible product and achieve the vision. These strategic ideas achieved an 'omni-channel' approach. His work is being deployed globally in stages.
As a seasoned digital innovator and creative leader, Rene has driven significant technological advancements across multiple industries, most recently serving as Lead Product Designer and Creative Director at FullBeauty Brands (2016-2021) where he led a major UX digital transformation. His career highlights include pioneering the first US Hispanic digital ad agency targeting Latina women at Ogilvy's Redbean Society (2009), developing MTV Puerto Rico's groundbreaking social media TV chat system (2006), creating the first interactive television banking application in the US and Latin America for R-G Premier Bank (2004), and consulting for Pepsi Global's interactive television initiatives across 20 countries (2001). With a master's degree in interactive telecommunications from NYU Tisch School of Arts (ITP), he has shared his expertise as a professor at Parsons School of Design and Miami Ad School, combining technology, creativity, design, and business strategy throughout his career.
